Rinpoche taught on how our dualistic mind (Tib: sems) functions, depending on its qualities of lightness and heaviness, to create our experiences of happiness and suffering, which determines how we experience our lives right now. We can recognize the nature of our mind, which is vast like the sky, who we are from the beginningless beginning, enlightened buddha nature, rigpa awareness. Rinpoche also shared a brief history of his training as a child with Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche in Kongpo, Tibet.
